| "That's a no." Gwen says. Alaina looks at the dashboard of the van for a minute. "What about a mint? You got a mint?" she puts her hand out to Gwen. "No, I don't have a mint. Anything else?" Gwen looks at Alaina frustrated. Alaina shakes her head. "Good." Gwen turns back around. "It's just that if you don't have any gum, I mean a mint is the next best thing. And people usually carry one of the two in the thier car or purse at least. If not both. I mean who doesn't carry a mint?" Gwen reaches in ther pocket. "Here go buy your self some damn mints and shut up. Ok." She hands her some change. "Ok, ok. Grounchy much. I mean really." She sits there for a minute. "I thought you were going for some mints?" "Well, I don't know now. I mean I think I want a snickers." "Just go!" Gwen yell. Alaina jumps out of the van and quickly rushes down the street. "Teenagers, they make my head hurt. How do you jump from gum to a snickers? Damn it now I want one." As Gwen turns back towards the ally she see the girl. "This is it." She says to her self. Amy turns the corner into the ally, trash bag in tow. "My roommate almost burns down my home and I have to take out the trash. This day couldn't get any worse." "I beg to differ." A voice says from behind her. "That day can get worse." "Now what?" Amy turns around to face the man. "look tall dark and creepy, I am not in the mood. So, get out of my way." "Or you will do what?" the man asks. "This.." she stares at the mans feet for a minute and they burst into flame. The man begins to scream. Gwen runs up to the ally and stops in her tracks. "What the hell?" The man continues to scream as he dissapears into a cloud of black smoke. Amy sighs. "I hate when they run." Amy looks over at Gwen. "Who are you?" "I came to save you? I guess I was a little off." Gwen says. Alaina runs up beside her. "What did I miss?" she takes a bite out of the doughnut she is holding. "I don't know what just happened...." Gwen looks at her. "Is that a doughnut?" "Bear claw." Alaina says with her mouth full. Amy looks around at the two strangers. "So, I'll ask again. Who hell are you?" Moments later Alaina and Gwen are sitting in the van. Gwen hangs up her phone and looks over at Alaina who is her finishing off her bear claw. "I don't see why you just walked away from her. You left me for a second just standing there looking like an idiot with a half eaten doughnut." Alaina says with her mouth full. She swallows the remains of the doughnut. "I thought we came here to save her anyway. Why didn't you say something? And who were you calling?" "I didn't say anything to her because I wasn't sure what to say. Maybe my visions are off. She didn't seem like she need much help. And as for the phone call. I got ahold of Jade. He said there was something he had to help Priest with and then he'll be here." Gwen says to Alaina. "So, what was that thing? You said it just dissapeared in some smoke?" she says as she picks up a napkin from beside her to wipe off her hands. "What kind of witch does that? Cause I so want that power." "I'm not sure it was a witch. I don't know what it was." They both jump when they hear the slam of a hand against the window. "You gonna come in or what?" they hear Amy ask. "Or are you going to sit in that thing all day?" She backs away from the window. "Your choice." |
