| Amy stands infront of a window display in the mall. The cardboard cut out of a green skinned, wort nosed, witch with a pointy hat. The very image of this gets her blood boilling. "God, if they saw a really witch they would s*** themselves. I hate Halloween!" she says to herself as she turns around. A group of kids approach her. "Got a problem?" one of them asks. "Not at all. Excuse me." she tries to pass them. The kid stops her. "Look boys, I think this one is going to be trouble." he say to the others. "You have no idea." she whispers. "I like trouble." another says to her. "Come on baby, why don't you give me a kiss." the first one says as he begins to corner her. "I don't think so." she says as she reaches into her purse. "Come on. We just want to play." one of the guys says to her. "I don't play." she pulls a knife from her purse and sticks it to one of thier throughts. "Still want that kiss?" they guys run off leaving her there. She puts the knife away. "Alot of help you were." she says to her book that is laying next to the knife. "Punks." she whispers to herself as she walks away. Later at Gwens house. "Now add the dragon root." Gwen oders Alaina. "And for heaven's sake stand back." Alaina stand at the edge of the counter and throws the herb into the pot on the stove. It meets with the other ingredients and there is a mild explosion filling the room with purple smoke. "God!" Alaina begins to cough. "Open the window. I'll get the door." Gwen says through the thick smoke. "I don't remember it doing that before." she walks up to Alaina waving the purple fog out of the way. "Are you ok?" "Yeah, I might choke do death on this smoke before it clears but other than that." Alaina answers her. "Damn." The smoke clears to reveal the liquid left in the pot. "And it is done." Gwen says looking down at it. "I feel like we should be kackling don't you?" Alaina says as the stares into the pot.. "Yeah, me too. But do you know how to kackle?" she shakes her head at Gwen. "Me niether. Now, let's see if it works shall we?" Gwen and Alaina begin to resite a verse from Gwen's book. "Now it be ol' Hallow's Eve, These witches call thee out, the spirit of this day, We call in to this house." There is a bright flash and the house is suddenly covered in decorations. "Ok, that was cool." Alaina says to Gwen. "But next year can't we just buy decorations?" Gwen shakes her head at her. "Never!" Gwen walks around the kitchen. "Besides, isn't this alot more fun?" she giggles at Alaina as the door bell rings. "I'll get it." Alaina says. Across town, Ivy sits on her front porch with her favorite cat on her lap. She pets it's long fluffy white hair as she listens to the sound of the wind chimes in the slight breeze. "I didn't think I'd see you today." she says as she turns to see her son sitting in the chair beside her. "Mom, you know I'm busy. I have a whole world to watch over." He says to her. "I didn't choose to become part of the councel. It was destany." "Well, destany or not you still need to find time for your mother. I get lonely in this big house by myself." she says as she looks at him with sad eyes. "I would hardly consider you lonely. How many cats do you have now? Twenty, thirty?" he replies to her with a smile on his face. "Twenty three!" she remarks. "But that's not the point. The point is your mother misses you. A person could go crazy with out her son around." she sets the cat down and walks over to Owen. "Just try to come visit more often ok." she pats his head flattening his soft blonde curls. "Now, how's about some tea?" She walks into the house to retreave the tea pot and two cups. "I'm afraid I'm not going to be here long enough for tea. I'm truly sorry." he says as Ivy walks back to the door. "Than why are you here?" she asks. "If not for a visit than what?" she opens the front door and stands there glaring. "We've noticed the arrival of a new witch in town. A young girl, around 17. She's farely new to her powers and she needs someone to guide her." He stands and walks over to Ivy. "I thought maybe you could help her out." Ivy takes a deep breath. Sounding frustated she tells him. "I guess so. If she really needs my help." "Thanks mom. I owe you one." He walks up to her and gives her a kiss on the forehead. "You bet you owe me one you......" he disapears from her sight before she can finish her sentence. "What is it about a mother's voice that can make her child disapear?" Ivy closes the front door and walks over to the endtable where she keeps her bones. "Ok, it's movie time." she says as she throws the bones into the air. "Alaina who's at the door?" Gwen asks as she walks into the livingroom. She almost trips over the chair as she is taken off gaurd by the sight of a dark hair man standing on her porch. Alaiana with the door wide open. "This is Dean. He's our new nieghbor." "Well, um, come in." Gwen says as she regains her ability to walk. Alaina steps out of the way as Dean walks in. She catches a glimpse of his deep blue eyes, as she closes the door. She turns to Gwen and Thinks to her self. "Oh my god! He's hot!" "I heard that Alaina." Gwen says to her with her mind. "I wanted you to." Alaina thinks to herself. "I'll just be in the kitchen." "You want anything Dean? Gwen how about you?" "maybe a...?" she thinks to herself as she walks into the kitchen. |
