| Setting to a point/Removing cam gear | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Now that the valvecover is off, take off the upper piece of the cam gear cover. Once that is removed it's time to set it to a point. To do this, there are numerous things that Honda did to help. Look on the very top of the pulley closest to the engine. There should be 3 dots and the middle one should be red. I used this as my point. So make the red dot align up with the triangle and the 'V' (you'll know what i'm talking about). I just did the key until i got most accurate to my point then, I used a wrench and moved the camgear to align it perfectly. On the camgear there is the word 'UP' which should obviously be up and 1 line on both sides which should be horizontaly straight. Then I used a chisel thing to jam the gear and got the bolt loose, marking the timing belt and gear to make sure i put it on the same way it came off. Then I slipped off the belt. I got a zip tie and put it through the farthest hole on the engine mount thing and on the belt to leave tension on it so that it doesn't come off of the gears below. Now I took the bolt off the camgear the rest of the way and took it off. |

| Here's the triangle and the 'V'. Look straight down and there will be those 3 marks with the center one red. Align the red one in the middle of these targets. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Here's how the cam gear should look if you set it to the point I did. Mark the cam gear and the belt so that when you put it back on, you know where to put the tooth. You can see that I did with the red mark above the 'P' in 'UP'. Just continue the line onto the belt. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
