Tabuk is a small farming community in the northwest corner of Saudi Arabia. It tends to be rural and dusty. However, the land northwest of it is believed by some to be the area traveled through during the Exodus of the Israelites. The Saudi Arabian governmnet has fenced off many archeological sites in the area. The highest mountain in the region, Jabal Al-Lawz, is the most probable contender for the real Mt. Sinai. Irrespective of the truth in these claims, the area is one of desolate beauty, inhabited mainly by Bedouins. Unfortunately, they prefer not to be photographed, but they certainly didn't mind us taking pictures of there exquisite scenery. |
