Zex Install

on a 5th gen 5 speed accord

Is your crap slow?  Follow my detailed instructions on this nitrous installation and make your slow crap fast crap.

Here you can see mark (marksaccord95) looking for the optimal placement of his bottle.  Derek (zexlude) looks on in agreement.

The company that we (mark) bought the kit from somehow sent only the bottle and the nitrous line, completely forgetting the nozzle and computer and everything else we needed.  So we had them overnight that stuff and began work on the stuff we did have, since we were very pressed for time.  First you need to run the nitrous line from the front of the car to the back.  Look on your fire wall, behind and below the intake, and if you have cruise control it is necessary to unattach it from the car for better access.

(fig. 1) you can see the two holes we here where we removed the bolts to move the cruise control out of the way for better access to the firewall.

Remove your intake,  shove the cruise control out of the way, (you dont need to undo the wires, just take off the bolts that attach it to the car and push it to the side. see fig.1) and you will see the rubber line that  goes into the passenger compartment.  You will snake the nitrous line in though this.  Carefully break a hole into the rubber(fig. 2), and begin feeding the NO2 line in(fig. 3).  Have

another person in the car reaching up underneath the dash behind the glovebox that can pull the line in.  (fig. 4)  Some NO2 companies recommend running the line underneath the exterior of the car, but that's BS because we are way too lazy to do that.

(fig. 3) feed the nitrous line into the hose.

(fig. 2)  the circle outlines the hole we made in the rubber hose that goes through the firewall.

We ran the line under the carpet in the passenger footwell across to the center console, (remove your center console.  If you dont know how to, you shouldn't be installing a NO2 kit in the first place.)  where it will be hidden by the console. (fig.5)  Then we ran it in to the carpet next to the emergency brake lines, and then into the rear passenger footwell, where you can either run it straight back under the rear seat, in which case you will need to remove the rear seat (two bolts on either side of the back rest, where it pivots when you put it down; then another near the center seat belt clamp - this is hard to see.  Feel around for it.  Then lift the back up and move the whole thing forward, and it will pull up and out.) or you can run it to the side and up into the trunk from the corner.  We opted for the latter because it seemed simpler.  Remove the plastic sills and pull up the carpet, reach in and pull the nitrous to the side, with another person at the e-brake feeding in more line.   Then hide the line under the corner of the rear seat and run it into the trunk.  Done.

(fig. 4)  feed the nitrous line into the footwell, leaving enough slack in the engine bay to reach the zex computer.

(fig. 5) Jam the line into the carpet, being careful to run beside the e-brake lines.
