Yeah seems obvious
but actually most stickers around here seem to be just ripped
off from the web and are not actually made by the seller...
*sighs* so much for artistic copyright. On that note, if you
do insist on using someone else's work then it should be marked
as public domain, free to use for personal AND business. If
it is not labeled as such anywhere on the page, guess what,
you cannot legally use it and should seek permission from the
artist. Same goes for all those copyrighted characters out there,
TV characters, comic, anime, and all the rest, their likenesses
are ALL copyrighted. Oh and this also goes for photographs too.
In short, if it aint yours don't use it unless it specifically
states you can. Yeah Yeah, I know everybody does it, don't make
me go into the bridge speech... if your friends jumped off a
bridge...
Why should you care?
Well, Do you like IMVU? Do you want it to stay around? If you
do, don't invite the copyright ax to come crashing down on them
with tons of copyright lawsuits, and once this world takes off
into the public eye, it will.
LOL okay okay off
of the soapbox, continuing on...
You will need to
make two sizes of your sticker, the final size and the catalog
size. (unless the final size is the same as catalog size)
Make the sticker
image in a photo editing program and size it to how you wish
it to appear as the final sticker, currently there is no size
limit that it can be, but in respect to all the folks who will
have to download it as they visit pages, keep the file size
reasonable.
Once you’re
happy with your final image save it as a PNG, GIF, or JPG. Save
it to a location on your computer that you can easily find later.
Now make your catalog
icon image by resizing your final image to a size of 100 x 80
pixels. If it is animated also make sure it is not over 50kb
in size. You might have to simplify the animation for the catalog
image, this will not affect the final product.
Save the catalog
icon version to the same place as a PNG, GIF or JPG with a similar
name to make it easer to find. (something like mysticker and
mysticker_icon) 50 char max
Remember, you must
own your name and regester on the develpers page before you
can submit a product to IMVU.
Here's the hidden
part. Go
to the IMVU website, catalog, stickers. Open any sticker
as if you were going to buy it. Now below the sticker and just
above the reviews you'll see a product number and a Make Sticker
link, Click Make Sticker.
Walla, the hidden
make a sticker page!
