I hope you enjoy looking at my little webpage. Here you can see the process of making my first real solo!
I designed the dress using MS paint. It's a modified version (way better in my opinon) of the dress I enter in Colleens of Canberras design competition. (all those except what is up now for free use on COC, is MINE-do not copy) Meaning, the design on COC is free to use, but the design shown here, is NOT. All modifications are mine, and only mine. (are copyright laws a pain or what?)
As I said, the dress was designed in MS paint, and then each individual piece was made larger using paint again, and smoothed out a bit, then printed, and re sized, again and again, until I finally have the correct size.
Here you can see my design pieces layed out on the front panel, the top left picture (the one my Dad called twisted pretzels, lol) shows what needs to be modified slightly to fit perfectly on the front panel. -maybe 5% smaller- Everything else seams to be okay. Whew!
(Sorry about the bad quality) The top fabric is a sheer pink sequin schiffon. It will be fused to another fabric for the sleeves. The bottom orangy fabric is my base. it's an irredescent taffetta. (very pretty in person)
(Really bad quality!) It's actually purple and shimmery. But the camera couldn't capture it. This will be used in parts of applique (again, fused to another fabric)
This isn't exactly my first attempt at a solo dress. It's my first attempt at making a fancier "real solo" You can see a photo of my first dress here.
