| Jody March grew up in Fairbanks in a mostly non-musical family. She began playing music on the piano, but was shortly after introduced to the violin when her sister began playing it. Her mom made her decide which instrument to seriously continue and she chose the violin. She started taking violin lessons at the age of 6 by her neighbor, Nancy Morgan. After about a year she switched to Susie Hallinan and that was when she started doing any sort of fiddle, because Susie did both fiddle and classical music. About 8 years later, Jody realized that fiddle was her passion. Her father plays classical guitar, and inspired, she wanted to learn how to play the guitar as well so she recently herself how to play acoustic guitar but she hasn't play it with the band yet. She enjoys her summers playing with the band and going to various summer camps like New England Music Camp, and Barrage High Performance Camp. She continues to do classical music, participating in the Fairbanks Youth Symphony as well as the West Valley school orchestra. She will be a Junior at West Valley High School in 2004.
