Out Sick - 13 May 2003

Turtle called me last night asking if I was gonna be out sick today. I told her I didn't think so. I awoke this morning with the worst sore throat and the most stuffed up head that I could barely move. I took a shower and got ready for work because I had told Turtle I would be at work today. I barely made it to my bed and collapsed again. I feel so weak and awful! I hate being sick.

Maybe I have SARS? Stupid Kathy probably gave it to me.

So, I didn't go to work today. And I'm gonna be late for work tomorrow. It looks like Kathy might have to work a little bit. That's a first.

Since I obviously didn't go to work [today], this is written after the fact on a completely different day and I am just pretending that it is today, even though it's not; it's in the future that this is all being written.

Do I know what that sentence that I just typed means? No, no I don't. But I think I've finally triggered the writing gland in my brain which spits out long winded sentences that mean little to nothing. It's a delicate balance of sleep deprivation and caffeine.

So, I bought a case of wine from Trader Joe's the other day. It cost me only $24. I was so excited at how cheap it was. I was really touched out of proportion to the actual cash value. Ridiculous, I know, but I am easily exciteable. I have little to report except that chocolate, sex and red wine are good. Particularly all at the same time. For those of you who are inexplicably not getting any, I recommend you get some chocolate and wine to start with.

You know. For the longest time, I thought it was "Traitor Joe's". It would help if the pronunciation between "t" and "d" weren't so darned similar.

I need to go grocery shopping, but I haven't been home enough to eat, much less cook or clean. In fact, the dishes in the sink are planning a coup. The council is being planned in loud tones that I can't help but hear. I should make a preemptive strike and show them who's boss.
