Welcome to
Pendragon Aviation. I'm Sandy Rhodes, the Director of
Pendragon. Pendragon is, of course, a "front"
for Skyguard, but Pendragon Aviation is a legitimate
company in its own right. We do everything conceivable as
long as it has to do with aviation: cargo, charters,
pilot training, sky diving, aircraft design--both fixed
and rotary-wing--enhancements, and customization.
Pendragon is probably best known as a
"flying circus." We have many vintage and
classic aeroplanes, and we host and participate in air
shows all over the United States and Canada. Our
aerobatics team has won many awards, and our
"Mustang" squad--a group of vintage World War
II P-51 Mustang fighters and Japanese Zero's--puts on
mock air battles and stunts. Our newest addition is the
precision F-5 Freedom Fighter team of Rachel and Mary
Powell. These two nineteen-year-old girls are probably
the best fighter jet pilots in recent history, as their
own aerobatics show will demonstrate. Aircraft
acquisitions in the works are an F-22 Raptor and an F-35
JSF (Joint Strike Fighter).
Another
feature of Pendragon Aviation is our traveling Air Museum
and our static aircraft displays. The museum is built
into a lovingly refurbished Lockheed C-121 Constellation,
or "Connie," and is well-worth seeing. Our
static (non-flying) aircraft displays feature a B-29
bomber, the last XB-70 bomber, the X-29 experimental
fighter, and a Lockheed YF-12A, as well as many vintage
fighter jets such as the F-4, F-102, F-104, F-105, and
mockups of the F-117 and B-2.
The next time
you're in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area, take a short, 50-mile
detour to Bartlesville and visit us. We're open Monday
through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our outside
static displays are always open, 24/7/365. Admission is
absolutely free and we have a nice gift shop featuring
the region's largest selection of model and RC aircraft
kits.
