Dad married my mother on March 2 1929.
Dad was in the Northampshire regiment and went to India during his time in the army.He was a Regimental Sergeant Major in the army, a hard man but very fair. After he left the army he became an Insurance agent. Later he went to work at Blackstones. This company made tractors and farm vehicles until war was declared on Germany in 1939 . They then made military hard ware. Dad joined the local Home guard and became their Sergeant until the end of the war.Dad was a qualified Jig and Tool maker. After he retired he took up teaching engineering to male students at Technical School in Stamford.
My Father was a very clever man and could put his hand to most things. He mended clocks and watches in his spare time.
He suffered from severe Asthma most of his life and had to have injections for it until medical science developed a Atomiser which made his life a little easier. He was greatly missed when he died very suddenly on Novenber 12. 1975.
My father was a tall man around six foot two inches with sparce black hair and a very deep voice. He was quite stern but when he felt really well he would go along to our alotment to plant and dig. When all of us got together we would have a sing song around the panio and he would laugh until he cried. He used to love to come over to the Pub Ron and I had. He liked to play darts with the lads, he loved his game of darts. In his younger days he played Bilards down at Blackstones Social Club.Wonderful man and I miss him very much.

Agnes Lily Jauncey was always known as Lil or Lily and married Bertie Harry Jauncey Known as Bert. on 2.Mar.1929.in Northampton England.My mother was the kindest and most caring person I ever have known.She had three children. One boy and two girls.
After my father died and at the age of 76 she went on a Mediterranean Cruise and had a wonderfull holiday. It was a holiday of a life time for her the only holiday abroad she ever had.She was a very short person with very Red Hair and she alway said that the best things come in small parcels. She didn,t have a very easy life but she always made the most of what she had. Always ready to help other people.In the late 1940,s She worked part time at the American Red Cross in Stamford, She was very well thought of by all who knew her. Later on in her life she became semi-blind. She didn't let that stop her joining the local Stamford Blind club. Mum would go to the club to make their afternoon tea and generally look after the other people, who were also blind.
I loved my Mother very much and I miss her. There is one thing though, she does come to me now and again, I sense her presence.
