INTRODUCTION

St. John Ambulance of Malaysia
Shing Chung High School Division
Perak Darul Ridzuan

This year, St. John Ambulance of Malaysia, Shing Chung High School
Division reach its 13th year anniversary. In 1990, it was established successfully under the supervised by our former Senior Assistant (Students Affair) Mr. Chan Weng Kwai. At the beginning, the team was led by Mr. Abdul Majeed (teacher in charge) and Mr. Sek Wai Kian(our first president). Well, it faced many problems such as insufficient site for meeting usage.

At that time, there were two type of practice provided; one was first aid knowledge and marching technique. Lectures as well as notes were given by the St. John Ambulance Officer to all members and syllabus was based on the First Aid Book. 

At late 1991, the activities of our division were varied. For  instance, camping was initially held in 1991 and it is still an important activity until today. Besides that, Cooking Competition, Visit Old Folk Home, AGM,and others were also regarded as compulsory events of a year.

Weekly meeting was held every Saturday, 8.00-11.00am. While meeting, members were given useful lectures about first aid, marching training or stretcher drill training. At that time, there were approximately 50 members and this figure rose till 180 members in 13 years. The time of meeting had been shortening until 10.00am after considering some problems occurred. 

At 22^nd August 1998, our division's Home Nursing Room has established successfully.

Now we would like to take this golden opportunity to express our grateful to those who had helped and support us. It is hope that our division will become more successfully in the future.
