May NEWS:

Return to Main Page

May 31, 2000 4:15 PM EST
I have received many a death threat to update this page, mainly from a mister Mike H. and a Devo H., wait that's too obvious... M. Heisz and D. Hale. Anyways, many things have happened since the last update.

I returned safely from the New Found land in the East.

Convocation was a blast... especially the night before convocation! Wooo. Since I'm not too clear on the details... particularly those from later on in the night, please feel free to add any stories to the message board. When I got to Kingston, there wasn't a soul at 215 Earl, nor at 550 Brock... However technolgy allowed me to join Bugs, Cdog, Rod, and Mikes C and G at East Side Mario's for dinner. It was May 25, also known as Bugs' birthday, or La Fin du Monde!!! After dinner, it was off to 550 Brock for the us(ual)...
Heisz, where were you that weekend???

I am now 22 years old (as of Friday)... On Saturday, I attended a bookie function where everyone was all dressed up. I might put some pictures of it up here someday. It was fun. On Sunday we relaxed. Yesterday, Mel and I walked along the very steep edges of Signal Hill (pictures soon). Now, Mel wants to get a Saturn SC1... I repeat, now.

I realize that it's been a long time since this page has been updated, but I've been pretty busy. I finished writing exams, forever. Then, I flew to Florida with my buddy Jay. We spent a few days on the white sand and in the Gulf of Mexico before we began our drive back to Canada. Oh how we missed Canada... although, we receieved senior discounts at KFC,
Clerk: That'll be $7.22. (I fiddle with change) How much do you have there?
Me: Seven bucks.
Clerk: $6.54 please.
Me: Cool.
the greasy-as-hell steroid fed chicken wasn't worth it. My buddy Jay actually managed to get two senior discounts somehow.
Our journey home began (in the dark at 5:30 AM) with a slight detour to Orlando to bring Melanie back to her friends. Soon, we were back on I-75 passing huge ugly signs that advertised 3 T-shirts for $10, strip joints, and cheap pecans. Things were going pretty smoothly... the radio provided us with many a song to sing to... Sisqo's "Thong Song" was definitely our theme song, but 'N Sync, DMX, and Wyclef Jean were also on heavy rotation. When we got to Atlanta at 5pm on friday, we were greeted with 6 lanes of bumper-to-bumper stop-and-go ecstasy! Unfortunately, that goodness only lasted about 70 minutes before we were moving again. By that time, Jay and I had probably sung Oh Canada about 5 times. We were warriors though... stopping only for gas, and drove until we got to Williamsburg, KY, not stopping once in Tennessee.

We checked into the local Day's Inn at around 10pm. What a room! There was a good inch between the door and the floor, and the blankets were nice and fresh! We got pizza at the Pizza Hut... the greasy pepperoni in our shrinking stomachs settled like John Rocker in the middle of the Bronx. Anyways, we woke up and finished the trip... having to detour through the beautiful streets of Detroit where we saw more than one pimp. All told... about 23 hours of driving... plus the 7 more from Strathroy to Montreal the next day.

Now I'm relaxing with my girlfriend here in Newfoundland. It's too bad that Bugs and the boys couldn't make it... it's pretty cool out here.
