Sevendust - Home (1999) Reviewed on 12/17/04

Eh...

Nation: United States

Album Genre: Hard Rock/Nu-Metal

Pros: One of the more popular hard bands of the early 21st century helping lead the way into the nu-metal age of popularity over the United States. What garnered interest for me with this band was the rather soulful vocals of Lajon Witherspoon, which back then was very rare amongst the too numerous to count nu-metal bands of the age. The instrumental section of this band kinda...well...they are nothing to brag about. Sevendust without Lajon would just be another shitty nu-metal band that try to spice things up with "phat beats." I used to love this album honestly, but as my tastes have matured, I recognize the utter futility this band feeds off of. It pains me to listen to such a wonderful vocalist stuck in such a rut with a band such as Sevendust when Lajon would really be better suited for a real metal band.

Cons: Kinda mixed in with the pros.
