Nocturnal Breed - Aggressor (1998) Reviewed on 2/20/05

Eh...

Nation: Norway

Album Genre: Thrash Metal/Black Metal

Pros: A few good songs off of the album like "Evil Dead" and "Revelation 666." The vocals are original...for the first few songs.

Cons: After a little while listening to this album, my patience began to wear thin. The vocals became very grating after a few songs, the rythyms and basic song structure came with frequent similarities (and that is being kind). I was not impressed by this album in the least. Infact, I bought this album with high hopes, because I had heard a few songs off of this very album (and one off of one of their demos), and I was disappointed to find out the only real good tracks were the two I had previously heard. Now, there is nothing inherently bad about this album per se, it is just overall very substandard thrash, and even more substandard black metal. You want better hybrid thrash/black metal, check out the Texas masters known as Absu.
