Kreator - Endless Pain (1983) Reviewed on 1/3/05

Good

Nation: Germany

Album Genre: Thrash Metal

Pros: Perhaps the rawest and most unrelenting thrash metal album you'll ever hear! The production is absolutely perfect in my opinion! It is not glossy like alot of modern albums, but it is not completely necro like early Norwegian black metallists did with simple tape recorders. Endless Pain is absolutely raw, but every note and vocal movement can be heard very clearly. Mille Petroza's vocals are completely unrelenting. He uses the growls alot more gutterly on this album, which really adds to the flavor of it. This album has little variation from song to song in my opinion (which can be argued to be its downfall), however, this really does not take away from the overall quality of the album because the formula, the riffs and drum patterns work handand hand together perfectly in sinc with the great vocals. I'll say it again for good measure...this is an unbelievably raw album that really should be heard by thrash and death metal fans.

Cons: Not alot of variation from song to song.
