Cryptopsy - None So Vile (1996) Reviewed on 11/19/04 |
Amazingly... Nation: Canada Album Genre: Technical Death Metal/Grind Pros: Wow....wow.........damn. This is perhaps the most brutal album I have ever heard. Yet, it contains the genuis of having a melodic undercurrent that just completes a monumental wall of technical sound! And Lord Worm, the man can't utter a gutterl word that can be udnerstood to the human ear, but who the hell cares? No one listens to Cryptopsy for the deep philosophical lyrics the tunes may or not have. These guys are the best grind band I have ever heard...bar none, and perhaps the best technical death metal band I have ever heard. This album takes seom getting used to, but if you have an ear for death metal, you can fully appreciate the genius this album absolutely possesses. Case in point, the song "Phobophile" starts out with a nice melodic tune on a piano, which leads into some ripping melodic bass and guitar work that takes over the underbelly of the entire song...absolutely terrific musicianship. A definite gem! Cons: |
