Cannibal Corpse - The Wretched Spawn (2004) Reviewed on 10/31/04

Vewy Good

Nation: United States

Album Genre: Death Metal

Pros: What seperates Cannibal Corpse from the common death metal band, is their ability to make all their songs absolutely blistering, but ridiculously tight and CATCHY AS HELL. Cannibal Corpse are a bunch of extremely talented musicians who manage to contain a sound that is on the brink of blowing up into chaos. So many metal bands don't know how to contain their sound, thus making it fly every which way into obscurity (not to mention the technical skill of many bands leaves room for improvement). 'The Wretched Spawn' is an album that really personifies modern Cannibal Corpse; it is the culmination of years of perfecting their art into what you hear on this album. Don't let the artwork discourage you, these guys create amazing metal with some cleverly gruesome lyrics.

Cons: None
