Sirius Yachts manufactures it's own range of round
bilge blue water steel cruising yachts. Designed by David
Thomas, these yachts have a powerful yet sleek style combining
an easily driven hull with excellent performance and handling
under sail or motor. The
yachts combine ocean going range and safety considerations,
with features that make them comfortable for coastwise cruising
and on-board relaxation. But most of all, the Sirius range
provides the security of a steel construction, making them
strong enough to bounce off the odd reef as well as stand
their ground in the crush of the marina.

The secret of the Sirius form of construction lies partly
in the high quality steel used but mostly in the method of
hull fabrication. High grade steel is used for vertical hull
plating which is wrapped around the longitudinal stringers
that run from stem to stern. These hulls have a higher yield
and tensile strength than other steel vessels, due to the
superior construction materials, and the longitudinal method
of framing providing immense strength within a very fair hull.

frame work are still clearly visible. The longitudinal
stringers which run the length of the vessel will
soon be sheathed with the steel plate that forms
the outer shell.
