When you buy a budgie, be sure it is in good health. You may see sick poor looking birds that your heart goes out to...but unless you are qualified and know how to bring them back to normal health, don't buy them. I suggest you buy from a breeder or home hobbyist. They will be breeding for health and beauty therefore the budgies will be in better health. Buy a book on budgies , or look on the net for information and photos on them. You must have a mental picture on your mind of how a healthy budgie looks. Then when you see a sick budgie(missing feathers etc.) you will know not to buy it. After buying the new bird keep it away from others budgies for a time. This way you will know if your budgie is healthy. |
