The Underground River
After a long but uneventful crawl through the right-hand tunnel, you emerge in a large, bright space, the roar of water now loud in your ears. You smile and blink dazzedly, unable to see where you are in the sudden light, but relieved that the sense of confinement, the stale air, and the darkness are all finally gone. Then your eyes adjust and you realize you're not outdoors after all. Looking around, you realize you're in a huge cavern, lit by a large hole in the very high ceiling, where a waterfall is being created by a river that falls into the cavern before continuing its way to the far side of the sloping cavern.
Disappointed, you sit on one of the mossy stones near the river's edge, absently pulling leaves off a nearby plant and tossing them into the water. You look around the cavern, and see several tunnels leading away. You don't want to go back in that cramped little rabbit-hole you came in, so that narrows it down a little bit...on the immediate left of the tunnel you came in is a far larger cave, with a very faint, cold light coming from somewhere within. Next to it is a tunnel that, when you draw near, emits an icy breeze. Perhaps it leads to the outdoors again? On the right of your entrance, there's a wide crevice that smells faintly of smoke, although it looks disturbingly thin-you'd have to be careful about getting in there, and besides, it might be like that tunnell of yours in there. You shudder and look at the last break in the stone on this wall, to the extreame right. It doesn't look particullary special, no strange scents, neither big nor small, and with a normal amount of light in it.

You could also follow the river into the distance--after all, it must lead somewhere, right? The cavern'd be flooded otherwise. Just as you've made up your mind, you notice there's another tunnell on the other side of the river, emitting a strange bluish light. After examining the river, you see a huge old oak that you could use as a bridge spanning the river...it's not impossible you could go investigate the glow...
Left, toward that cold light
Further left, toward the icy air
Right, to invesigate the smoke
Extreme right, down the nondescript tunnel
Downriver
Over the oak-bridge
