You make your choice and begin a walk down the smokey hallway--it can hardly be called a tunnell, because it's so tidy. Any stones that may have been lying about in the past swept to either side, out of harms way, with a neat row of large round rocks lining the path between the rubble. There are hundreds of shining shards of quartz mixed in with a few intact if slightly flawed stones along the top of the rounded stones near the entrance where the sun can reach, casting rainbows on the walls, making it look almost beautiful in a stark sort of way. You follow the path with curiousity, realizing some one must have arranged this for either their enjoyment or to please someone else. You empty your pockets of all the stones & fossils from your hike, placing them amongst the other stones, deciding that they'd just have been things to dust at your home, and they'd look so nice here. Finally you reach the end of the tunnel, and find yourself in another large cavern. This one, however, seems to be furnished like a home. Near the center is a small fire heating the room, and for the first time since
you entered these mountains, you're at a comfortable temperature. You sigh with satisfaction, then look around the room. You notice that around the fire are tall stones, up to about mid-thigh, firmly embeded in the soil with maybe an inch or so between each breaking the circle a foot or so away from the flames. They cast tall shadows on the walls, but the open top and fingers of light between them make the room friendly none the less. On the outside of the little wall are six small baskets filled with warm knitting in different colours, some with tiny stuffed animals tucked in them. There is a hammock-like arrangement that seems to serve as a bed, a rickety old table with two

chairs, and different indetations in the wall seem to serve as shelfs for carvings, pottery, herbs, and innumerable other objects. "Hello!" says a female voice jubilently, just as you feel something warm and wet against your hand. You give a startled yelp, and whirl about when you hear a tiny giggle. Behind you is a girl with red hair and eyes that match her simple green dress. In her arms, she holds a tiny lavender-maned dragon, the source of the giggles. "Sorry," says the girl, smiling and not looking at all apologetic, "Brighid
loves to surprise people...that's pretty much exactly what she did to me. Except she licked my nose." You smile a little, trying to be polite. "My name's Iseault. I live here with the snow dragons. There're six of them in all. When they get a little older, they'll have their own rooms," she gestures to a series of catacombs leading from the back of the room, currently fenced off with more of the taller stones, "But for now, it's hard enough to keep them out of trouble without seperating them!" she laughs. You introduce yourself, and she hands you a blue-maned hatchling who was chasing one of his sister's tails ( "Darragh,"
she tells you the baby's name, like it explains everything,) and leads you to the table to sit. "These dragonswere all born over at Cosset Territories, but the mother, Geriana, needed to find new homes for them, since it was too many to keep in the mountain there. Comfortabley, at least. . They were all having a great time, practiclly playing hide-and-go-seek on me!" She laughs, giving the little dragon on her lap a smile. "When they're all grown up, some may stay, or they might go to live out of the caves, but the little ones are kind of vulnerable, so they need a nice sheltered cave like this. I usually feed them fish from the river, because too many of the herbavors around here are intelligent...I just can't
feed them someone I know, can I?" You chat with her for a little longer, and she introduces you to the other hatchlings. You've already met the little girl Brighid, and you're holding her brother Darragh. That handsome lad with the navy coat is Liam, and the green-haired twins are Niamh and Connor. The blue-haired lass is Sorcha." You eventually ask her about the way out of the mountain. "I can show you any time you like. There are other dragons down here in the mountain, mostly friendly if you're polite, if you want to visit and explore a bit first. Just ask me any time you're ready to go!
