Day In Brief:Outlet ShoppingSeattle

Guess time really flies. 2 days have passed, time to say goodbye to Canada and to cross over the border back into the States again. Once again, we chose to go for dim sum for brunch. Hmm..come to think of it, in retrospect, we never had any Western Food in the Vancouver. Instead we stuck to Asian cuisine, such as Jap, Viet or Chinese food thru these 2.5 days..:).

After a most delicious meal and some last minute shopping, we made our way to the US-Canada Border. Had some hicccups crossing the border as we had to go for additional checks. Oh well, I guess our profile of four 20+ year olds do fit some pre-determined criteria that would put as into the higher-risk groups, I suppose. Anyway, we cleared the customs within half an hour. ;}

Outlet Shopping

We had the time and opportinity to do some outlet shopping after crossing the border. Goods are usually sold at discounted prices over here. The shops are larger than the normal shops that you will see, and there's plenty of variaties here! All of us manged to buy some things one way or another. Carol and I had the most fun purchasing many different kinds of books too! These books as we shall see turned out to be a great source of fun and entertainment in subsequent days.;)

Seattle

Arrived and settled down in our motel in Seattle in the evening. As our motel was located not too far from the city center, we decided to take a walk down to explore the city a little and to find our dinner as well.

Some history of Seattle that I found really interesting. :)

By nightfall, most of the shops in Seattle have already closed for the day. Hence, most of the areas that we walked round to were relatively quiet. Found it to be an enjoyable experience too. To stroll in the quiet streets, in the cool night air while chatting with my friends :) What caught my eye would be the many statues of fancifully decorated pigs that line the streets of Seattle. This, I later found out was due to a street exhibition(?) that featured pigs and was titled "Pigs on Parade".
