Do u hear the music?
| As the time trickled by, we realised that we had slightly more than an hour to midnight i.e. to the end of Caroline's B'day! Jon and I rushed out in the middle of the night to a Hypermart, following the directions that Jon obtained from the motel desk, leaving a semi-suspicious Caroline behind in the room. Once we got to Fred Meyers (i.e. the hypermart), it was a mad scramble to find the cake and to decide on one which Carol would like (Decided on a blueberry cake eventually!), followed by all the other neccessities such as candles, knife, serviettes, drinks etc to go with the celebration! We managed to squeeze in time to get a tube of pink gel to write some words on Carol's cake as well!:) Just as we were ready to head back to the motel, with like half an hour left to 12 midnight, to our dismay, we realised that we had forgotten to buy a very important thing- a lighter to light the candles! So...it was another mad rush for Jon to find a small lighter in the hypermart while the seconds rolled by, and I waited for him with the cake in hand :p Glad to say that we had the mission accomplished and we got back to the motel just slightly before 12 midnight. Geez...this is getting to sound more and more like the story of Cinderalla..:p

![]() | Anywayz, it was really rather fun as Jon and I crept stealthily back to the motel room and lighted the cake in the passageway just outside the room, while trying our best to keep quiet at the same time. After some moments of peeking through the windows (this was more at my insistence.....just for the fun of it...and to make sure that the timing of our entrance would be just right...:p), we finally got the door opened and started to sing the b'day song for a semi-surprised but really touched Caroline! A pleasantly surprised but highly touched Caroline! |

| After all the surprises and zhen qin liu lu, time for a mei mei pose in front of the camera! Smile :) PS: See the candles burning brightly on the cake? They are actually those kind of trick candles that can't be blown out... :PAs the cake didn't come with a cake knife...we had to make do with those kind of plastic disposable knives... ;) | ![]() |

| A semi first attempt at playing with the cake. This slice of cake remained intact in Caroline's hand. No harm done for starters. :) |

| Strike 1 by the B'day Gal! | ![]() |
![]() | Another tussle! Substitute the B'day Gal for Robin ;p I hate to sound corny, but doesn't the sight of the red against yellow remind u of Singtel vs M1? |
| Final Score....not quite hard to tell from the picture... ;p But ain't the B'day Gal happy!
In case u're wondering if this author escaped scot-free from all this fun, the answer is No! | ![]() |

| After all the fun, of cos, there's always the cleaning up to do..... One unforgettable lesson from this is that, cream on carpet is an extremely hard thing to clean....arrgh....but we managed to clean up the mess subsequently ;) Time to call it a day....moving on to Jackson Hole, Grand Teton National Park tomorrow :) |
