| US West Coast Escapade 2001 |
26th May 2001 Saturday
| Day In Brief: |
Lodgings: Flat Creek Inn
| Leaving Salt Lake City behind us, we left the desert red rock state of Utah behind us, and advanced onwards into the state of Wyoming. Probably due to the topography of the area, the roads that led us to Jackson Hole, our destination for the day, were winding and climbing all the way. The view was magnificent, especially as we transcend from the hotter grasslands of Utah to the cooler, greener and lush pastures of Wyoming. |
![]() | There u can see our destination-Jackson Hole on the map. |
| Jackson Hole is often referred to as the gateway to both the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. This is due to the proximity of Jackson Hole to these 2 parks as seen on the Area Map. My first impression of Jackson HOle was that of a quaint and pretty town with a distinctly Old West flavour. However, there is also this strong touristy feel to the entire place as well, probably due to the large number of shops, hotels and restaurants that permeate through the township. The town with its many shops looks real inviting to tourists. A pity as I was not feeling well that day, I had to stay behind in the motel room to rest while my travelmates went round sightseeing in the town on their own. :) |

A different kind of arch from the natural ones that we saw in Utah....this one is made of purely elks' antlers. |
