| Site history: I made the name "simsgalaxy" on the Geocities server around October 2000, but I didn't start updating on a regular basis until Decmber. The reason I created this website was because of me needing a safe place to store skins I had made (I own a stupid computer that keeps crashing and losing my files). After a few months I began to think "Hey-hey, other people might wish to share my work with me," so I listed this site in the Member Pages Directory of Geocities. Also, the faithful search engine Google links people to my site. By the way, googlism.com is quite kewl 'coz you type in your name and it comes up with sentances like: - "Andria is a bright student with an amazingly resilient spirit in spite of all of the draw backs and tragedies in his young life" - Correct except the part about me being a male and all... -"Andria is keeping busy teaching computer science at the University of Toronto" - There are so many things I didn't know about myself! - "Andria is different" - Oh, but I thought everyone was different...? - "Andria is conveniently located in the heart of Coral Bay and provides excellent food to suit your taste" - Firstly, I live in the middle of a load of hills and trees and cow pats (not near the sea/bay) and secondly, I'm afraid that I can't cook for donkeys. - "Andria is a elf" - UMMM.....................................no. *AND MANY MORE!* I started out making skins by just colouring in Maxis originals, but after a while I found out that copying and pasting textures into my skins made them a whole lot better, and more my own style. Even later on I discovered the magic of Photoshop's features such as the texturizer, and the other trillions and trillions of features, which I've gotta have a go at. I make my skins using Adobe Photoshop 6.0, Milkshape 3D, Skn>Obj, Bodywarp, and of course, trusty old Simshow. To edit the .skn files, I use Notepad. To edit the .CMX files I use Wordpad. I'm very fussy about using Note or Wordpad for particular file types, but that's just me being my weird self. To zip them, I use Winzip, and to write the readme files I use Notepad. |
