next day's entry
Sorry that I didn:t write yesturday.  I went to go write and Naoto was on the computer and I didn:t feel like staying up all night waiting for him!  So, here I am a day later. The last two days have gone by way too fast.  Last night, we had to say goodbye to Machiko.  She left for camp, but we found out that she will be coming back the day before we leave, so we will see her one more time!  Yesturday we woke up late and went shopping in Sakata with this guy Mitsuya who is in Kari's advanced class and my intermediate class.  He is really nice, he took us to his favorite music shop and then we walked down this shopping alley and then finally to his favorite coffee shop.  IT was fun, I had two or three big iced coffees.  Later that day we went grocery shopping for our american meal that we made for the pastors birthday.  We made fried chicken, salad, mashed potatoes and garlic bread.  They really liked it but I have to tell you about our mistake. So... Naoto, this nineteen year old guy, took us shopping.  (He doesn't know anything about cooking) and we asked him what kind of oil we should get and so we got this oil, without thinking that anything was wrong.  So when we tried to fry our first two chickens, we realized something was wrong.  We had bought an oil with seasoning, sugar and wine in it.  There was like a sugar glaze over the pan and it was putting off so much smoke that we were all choking. After that mistake we only made a few more, but overally we had a really good diner. After dinner we had a service and Andrew gave his testimony.  IT was great.  After the service was over we surprised the pastor with a cake, and we enjoyed cake, and pistacioes that I brought.  I don:t know how to spell thta.  They loved them, I had never seen someone so excited over a nut. After the service we just hung out and I drew fake tatoos on the boys arms and feet.  Me and Naoto had matching butterfly tatoos.

This morning we woke up feeling really tired, so we asked the lord to bless us with energy and I think he answered my prayers.  We had a good service this morning, and then we went to this really nice old house in the mountains that is a soba shop.  It was really neat, it was really old fashion and there were so many of us, it was so exciting.  Two of our advanced english students came and had lunch with us, they brought their kids.  It was really good, there was duck in the soba,  After we had lunch, we went to this lady's house and learned how to play the Koto.  It was exciting, I know how to play SAKURA on the koto.  After that we went to an old rice museum and looked around it was fun, just to hang out with our friends.  It was really pretty, I guess it is pretty, famous, I have a postcard of it.  We finally came home and right away had the childrens english class. After the class, we went strait to this lady's house for a wonderful temura and japanese bbq dinner.  it was great!  IT is getting, late and I want to go to bed, click here for some great pictures of the last two days.  Love marti

Wanna know how tight this church is!  I am sitting here, it is almost midnight and all I can here is a guitar and harmonica being played and some singing!  I love it,!!  Okay, I am really tired now!  BYe
