Simona Amanar: Biography

Simona Amanar is one of the most popular stars on the international gymnastics scene. Having already achieved many goals at a young age, this talented 21-year-old has attracted a large and devoted following and is one of the most successful Romanian gymnasts of all time.

Since starting gymnastics at the age of 6, Simona reached her full potential winning many medals and titles including 4 medals at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games and 3 medals at the recent 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

Simona has contributed to a long list of victories, including the team event at the 1995 World Championships. Since going into retirement following the Sydney Olympics, she remains focused on gymnastics, intending to coach future stars in Romania.

Disciplined, skillful, and athletic, she is guaranteed an audience wherever she appears. Renowned for her shyness and unselfish attitude, Simona has won many fans around the world by performing at the high standard which has come to befit her.
