Sam decided to walk to Jacob's house to talk to Zane, hoping he hadn't already heard the rumors. When she arrived at Jacob's house Jacob's mother greeted her. Sam said to her trying to keep her voice calm as possible " Hello Mrs. Keith, is Zane around?" "He is in the living room," Mrs. Keith told her as she stepped aside to allow Sam into the house. Sam went into the living room and saw Zane, Crystal, Jacob, and Elizabeth sitting around talking. When they saw Sam they all stopped talking. After a few moment of awkward silence Jacob said, "I have to go run some errands for my mother. Want to come?," He asked Elizabeth. Elizabeth, of course, followed Jacob out of the living room.

As soon as they were gone Sam said, "Zane, I really need to talk to you." Zane went to say something but Crystal cut in and said, "Haven't you done enough?" Just then all the events of the day started to overwhelm Sam, so she ran out of the house crying. She ran the whole way back to her own house. When she entered the house she instantly knew no one was home. She was glad no one was there because she didn't want to have deal with anyone anyway. She just wanted to cry. The thought that even Zane, her best friend, thought she was a murderer was making her sick.

At some point she must have fallen asleep because when she awoke it was dark outside. She looked at the clock it was 7 PM. She had been asleep or crying for the last 3 hours. She decided to go downstairs hoping someone had come home. When she got downstairs she found the house was still empty. So she went to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

As she was reaching for a glass she heard the back door slam shut. "Mike?�. Mom?� Sara?�." she yelled from the kitchen. She made her way around the house to see who it was. To her surprise it was Crystal Zane's new girlfriend. "What are you doing here?" Sam asked annoyed.
