. Links .

Welcome to my small collection of links. These are sites where I found some inspiration, useful information, are places I like to visit, and friends' websites as well. Several of my online friends are also writers, so go check out their work!

Random / Fun

Phantom Reality -- The site of a good friend of mine, Shiloh. She has great original stories and fanfiction too. (If you are an Orlando Bloom, Legolas, or HP fan, definitely take a look.) She has a ever-growing writing portfolio, so check out her stuff!

Skygawker.com -- Home of the Carlson Septuplet IC and much more. Jessie is a wonderful writer and writes several ICs about various subjects, and she runs a messageboard with a very welcoming community of members.

Golvmoppsmargarin -- This is the site run by Alexandra, a friend of mine who lives in Sweden, which might explain the name. Never fear, she knows English, and she kindly has all of her pages in Swedish and English.

BobSmiley.com -- The webiste of the comedian Bob Smiley. Definitely check out the audio clips and read the humor articles.

Engrish.com -- One of the most hilarious sites I know about real mistakes in English from Japan. This is always good for a great laugh.

MuggleNet.com -- My favorite Harry Potter fansite with news, spoofs, a caption contest, and a huge collection of editorials about predictions for the next two books all for the HP fan.

Bad Baby Names -- A site devoted to spreading the word about--you guessed it--horrible names that real parents name their children. Wonderful for a great laugh.

Doug Adams' View on Australia - An article written by Douglas Adams, the man who wrote Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy, about Australia. Sorry to any Australians out there if you're offended, but it is funny, and it's always good to laugh at yourself every once in a while!

Radio.Blog.Club -- One of my new favorite sites. Here, you can search for many popular songs today and a lot of international music (if you're in the US like me, it's international, anyway) and play them for free. Wonderful if you really don't want to pay $35 for that French CD with the internat'l shipping charges or if you just want to listen to some free music. I recommend it 100%.

Notebook in Hand -- A message board of friendly writers, artists, film makers, and other creative people! We love meeting new people, so come in and say hello. :-)

Informational

BibleGateway.com -- An excellent site with the entire Bible available to read or to search by passage or by topic.

Facts About Multiples -- A wondeful site with tons of information on multiples from twins to quindecaplets from all over the world. (A copy of the Dilley Discipline Ladder is posted here as well.)

MixSig.net -- This site has a wonderful store of accurate information about synesthesia (if you don't know what that is, I'd encourage you even more to take a look!). This site also includes a very active message board (of which I'm a moderator) with plenty of discussions about all aspects of synesthesia.

Cecchetti.org -- The website of the Cecchetti Council of America. Cecchetti is a classical ballet method created by Mr. Enrico Cecchetti, and I take the syllabus exams for this method. (I'm very proud of that. ;-))

KidsGrowth.com -- Here's a link to charts to figure out weights and heights from infants through 20 years old.

Oxygen Babynamer -- Great for finding every name, common and rare, as well as wonderful search engines, lists of similar names, and feedback from others.

Babycenter.com -- Baby name search for specific things like the ethnicity, number of syllables, and by first and last letter or group of letters.

SSA Baby Names List -- Lists of the top baby names through the past fourteen years as well as lists for the top baby names by state.

Creative Writing Prompts -- A great lists of writing prompts for writer's inertia or anyone who wants to get their creative juices flowing.

Writers' Digest List of Creative Writing Prompts -- Another list of prompts brought to you by Writers' Digest.

Xentrik.net -- A wonderful site that has tutorials for learning html, css, PHP, and more.

Lissa Explains -- Here's another great web tutorial site. Also here is an extremely handy Hexadecimal RGB Color Chart.
