Who are you? Why are you doing this? My name is Elisabeth, and Silver Sandals is my own personal corner of the web where I plan to publish an assortment of writing--one of my favorite and most passionate hobbies. If you'd like to know more about me, please take a look at my personal page. As for the latter question, I created this site purely for my own enjoyment (and hopefully to improve my html and css skills along the way) and your own, I hope. Is there a story behind the name Silver Sandals? The story behind the name is quite simple. About three years ago, I received a very small silver flip-flop sandal necklace as a birthday present from a cousin (which does not look like the large, brightly-colored flip-flop necklaces that suddenly appeared everywhere). I wear it nearly everyday, so it has grown to be somewhat of a good luck charm for me. When I was searching for a moniker for this site, I thought of my necklace, and so it has remained since then. Is everything on this site yours? Yes, everything here is mine unless stated otherwise. The beach picture on the index page and the palm tree picture in the menu are both copyright by Elisabeth, 2004-2006. The only things that are not are the beautiful cloud background is courtesy of Anghel, and the rainbow background on my bio page is from MixSig.net. So where were the pictures taken? Excellent question, if I do say so myself. ;-) Both the picture of the wave on the main page and the palm trees in the menu were taken of beautiful Waikiki Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, and the Hale Koa on Oahu, taken on my vacation there during the summer of 2004.
