About Vampire Princess Miyu: The TV Series

This is the story of a vampire girl who remains ageless and whose duty, as the Guardian, is to return stray Shinmas(gods/demons) to the darkness. She does this with her companion/servant, Larva. In the anime series, Miyu makes friends with Chisato, Yukari, and Hisae. She's very serious and always keeps her cool. Miyu rarely gets angry at someone, even with the shinmas she destroys. A quick way to get her upset is to mess with her friends in which you don't want to be around her then.

Vampire Princess Miyu is a new anime series I recently started watching. I love it because it combines two of my favorite subjects: vampires and anime. It also has some romance(very subtle but intense) and the action is good(when it happens). The animation is also quite beautiful and I love the stories. Some are very simplistic, while others convey sadder meanings with more depth. Most of the stories in Vampire Miyu end tragically for the humans concerned, so if you're looking for happy endings, well, they're few and far in between. Still, I like the series because it deals in human strength as well as weakness, tragedy and irony.

I know there are twenty-six tv anime versions as well as four OAV episodes. I've got all the OAVs but I'm still collecting the tv series on tv(the subtitled version,not the dubbed). I actually switched it to English a few times but I couldn't keep it without laughing. The voices(no offense) sound so dramatic at some points and then so dull at others. I know Miyu's character in the tv series is very serious and it would seem she really shows any feeling in her voice, but in the japanese sub-titled(at least to me) she shows more emotion whereres in the English she sounds deadpan, except when she's destroying the Shinma(there she sounds too dramatic. Enough about that though. I would also love to start collecting the manga versions of Vampire Miyu, but I don't know where to find it(in the stores). I'd order them online, except that that's not possible for me. So, I'm kind of stuck at the moment.
