Dianne almost stood from her seat when she said, "No I didn't!" But Alicia prevented her and laughed. The parents weren't paying attention to the teenagers. The mothers were busy gossiping about celebrities and people they knew. While the fathers were seriously having a business conversation. Their topic might be on the current financial issues.
"Oh, come on! You don't have to lie," Brad said. "It's not only you who stare at us. Other people like to stare at us and compare us in their minds because we're really different than each other. That's what you were doing, right?"
Dianne shrugged. He really could read other people's thoughts. It surprised her for the second time. "Well, you got the answer," she replied. She didn't want to say the truth, because she didn't want them to know what she was thinking. Brad knew that she was thinking of them. But he didn't know that she was actually thinking of them in a way that she was beginning to get interested in them.
Alicia didn't stop giggling. She probably figured out about Dianne's
first step interest in her brothers. Dianne elbowed her to stop, and she did.

That day they visited the Opera House. They had lunch in an exclusive restaurant after that. Then Alicia's father took them around Sydney. They splitted into two groups. The mothers and the girls were mostly spending their time window-shopping in a mall. While the fathers and the brothers went around electronic outlets and video game stores to see the latest releases of Playstation 2 games.
Dianne regretted that she didn't have much chance to
observe the guys. Meanwhile she remembered what she told herself at the time the plane landed in Sydney. I don't need a companion until time heals everything. And she realised one thing, time hadn't healed everything yet, which meant that Andy and Brad should vanish from her mind.
