"I thought that this was it for me, that this dark cavern crafed of Ice would be my end. I pondered the many things that one should before one's time is up though it only made me feel worse. I was hungry, thirsty, and I believed that my body had gone numb from the intense cold. Freezing to death would at least be quicker than starvation I thought to myself. I awoke one morning or evening, I wasn't sure what it was to find that I was no longer cold. I looked for fire but found none. I looked at my arms, now the color of snow; I was terrified at this new development. The only thing that convinced me that I was still alive was the intense hunger I felt. Confused and scared, I dove into the underground stream of ice water and swam for miles in water that was cold enough to freeze any of natures seafaring beasts. I emerged in the light of day free from my prison and though still bewildered by this change begin my new quest; but first food." - Davian Swordhand on his draconic transformation Hit Die: d12 Requirements: To qualify to become a dragon disciple, a character must fulfill all the following criteria. Race: any non-dragon Skills: concentration [8 ranks], knowledge (arcana) [8 ranks], spellcraft [8 ranks] Languages: Draconic Spellcasting: able to cast 2nd level arcane spells without preparation Special: the character must have a near-death experience and recover from it on his own Class Skills: The dragon disciple's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Gather Information (Cha), Knowledge [all skills taken individually](Int), Listen (Wis), Profession (Wis), Search (Int), Speak Language (Int), Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis) Skill Points at Each Level: 2+ Int modifier Class Features: All of the following are class features of the dragon disciple. Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: The dragon disciple gains no new weapon or armor proficiencies. Natural Armor Increase (Ex): At 1st, 4th, and 7th level the character gains an increase to his existing natural armor (if any) as shown on the table below (the numbers represent the total increase gained to that point). As his skin thickens, a dragon disciple takes on more and more of his progenitor’s physical aspect. Claws and Bite (Ex): At 2nd level, a dragon disciple gains claw and bite attacks if he does not have them already. Use the values below or the disciple’s base claw and bite damage values, whichever are greater. A dragon disciple is considered proficient with these attacks. When making a full attack, a dragon disciple uses his full base attack bonus with his bite attack but takes a -5 penalty on claw attacks. The Multiattack feat reduces this penalty to only -2.
Ability Boost (Ex): As a character gains levels in the dragon disciple class, his ability scores increase as shown on the table below. Theses increases are treated as those gained through level adjustment. Pseudodragon: At 3rd level, a dragon disciple may call a Pseudodragon familiar even if he does not have the Improved Familiar feat. He need not have the required caster level that accompanies the feat either. A Pseudodragon called by a dragon disciple always shares the same alignment as master and dragon disciple caster levels stack with any other class levels that determine abilities for only a Pseudodragon familiar. Breath Weapon (Su): At 3rd level, dragon disciples gain a breath weapon. The type depends upon the characters specific draconic heritage. The breath weapon always deals 2d8 points of damage and is useable 1/day. At 7th level the damage increases to 4d8 and is useable 2/day but the dragon disciple must wait at least 1d4 rounds before he can use it a second time. Upon reaching dragon apotheosis at 10th level, the breath weapon reaches full power at 6d8 and is useable 3/day but the character must still wait at least 1d4 rounds between each usage. The DC of the breath weapon is 10 + dragon disciple level + con modifier. A line shaped breath weapon is 5 ft. high and wide, and 60 ft long. A cone shaped breath weapon is 30 ft. long.
Blindsense (Ex): Identical to the Dungeon Masters Guide version. Wings (Ex): At 9th level, the dragon disciple grows a set of draconic wings. He may now fly at a speed equal to double his normal land speed with average maneuverability. Dragon Apotheosis: Identical to the Dungeon Masters Guide version with exception of the changes made to the breath weapon (noted above). Spells per Day: At the specified levels below, a dragon disciple adds a caster level to his arcane casting class to determine spells known and spells per day. If a dragon disciple has more than one arcane class, he must designate what class will advance when a caster level is granted.
