| Mythical Creatures: Mermaids |
![]() |
| Mermaids come, as far as I know, in two forms. The first is the traditional idea of a mermaid, beautiful with a human body and a fish tale - like the above. The other is a rather ugly in comparison creature, greeny coloured, with webbed hands and feet. The former has for a long time been put to imagination by wizards, but new evidence has recently proven their existance. They are found at the bottom of seas, not very deep mind, but amonst the plant life and often corals. They live where the water temperature is warm, and there is much life. The looks could be to do with the gender; sources have informed me that while the females of the species are apparently very beautiful, the males have been described as: having red noses, piggy eyes, green hair and teeth and a fetish for brandy. There are many mermaid-related mythologies from Germany, Russia, Africa and many sightings in Cornwall. The muggle author, Hans Christian Anderson wrote the Little Mermaid. |
