Chapter 6     Long Stories     Chapter 8
Chapter 7

Christina leapt down the stairs two at a time. She looked to her left, then her right for the cupboard. Harry was still up at the top of the stairs, trying to walk quietly,
"It's under the stairs.",he whispered.
Christina looked back up at him and smiled. Harry blushed, skipped a step, and tumbled down the stairs. He ended at the bottom stair and looked up at Christina,
"I thought you were trying to be quiet?", she laughed.
Harry looked back up at the stairs and heard nothing but snoring.
Christina rushed to the cupboard but found it locked tight. She stamped her foot and looked up at the ceiling,
"Oh shoot, now what to do?"
Then she smiled and pulled a bobbypin out of her hair. Her beautiful, chestnut bangs fell onto her face. It laid perfectly on her forehead while she picked the lock.
"But you still haven't told me where we're going.",said Harry, a bit louder than he would have liked.
She finally opened the door and pulled out Harry's trunk, broom, and books,"Help me get these outside.",she ordered.
They carried all Harry's things outside and placed them on the lawn.Harry tiptoed upstairs to grab a few normal-wear clothes and Hedwig's cage.
He came back in about twenty minutes,"What took you so long?", asked Christina, when Harry finally came back, arms full.
"Stealth.",he whispered.
Christina hopped off the garden wall and smiled,"Shall we go then?"
Harry dropped his clothes and grabbed her by the arm and swung her around forcefully,"Where the bloody hell are we going!?!?!?"
Christina looked down at her arm and plucked his fingers off,"You don't have to yell and there was no reason to hurt me."
Harry looked abashed as he let his arms fall to his sides,"I'm sorry but I'd rather like to know where I'm going before I'm ordered round."
Christina sat down on his trunk and crossed her legs,"Well, where would you like to go?"
Harry stared at her,"Excuse me?"
Christina smiled sweetly,"Where would you like to go?"
Harry continued to stare,"Wait, you've been ordering me round this whole bloody time and you don't know where we're going?"
Christina shook her head,"No,no,you don't understand. Well, you kind of do, but, well, I didn't really come here under orders. See,I was sort of restless so I came to get you!",Christina smiled generously.
Harry thought a moment,"So it's got to be out of the way I suppose?"
"I never said that but I guess so.",said Christina
"How're we getting there?", asked Harry.
"The Knight Bus of course!",smiled Christina.
"Do you think we could go to Hermione Granger's house?",asked Harry.
"I suppose."said Christina,thinking.
Harry was sure he would be safe there. It was a muggle house. But then again..............
Well, there was no where else to go. He didn't want to bother the Weasley's anymore. They'd done too much for him already.
Harry continued to think as Christina turned toward the road and stuck out her right hand. Harry watched as two balls of light came racing towards them down Wisteria Walk. He heard a rumble and a screech and there was the Knight Bus standing right in front of them. A three story tall bus which had beds inside of it instead of chairs, at night.
Standing at the door was Stan Shunpike,"Hey Ern! Look who's runnin' off again! It's Harry Potter!", he cried, and he stared at them,"And he's with that mouthy girl we dropped off last night!"
Ernie Prang, the Knight Bus driver, ran up behind Stan, got wide-eyed and ran back to his seat.
"Woll, What can I do for ya kids.", asked Stan.
Christina straightened up and looked Stan in the face and spoke in a loud, clear voice,"We are not children, Mr. Shunpike. I am here on official Ministry of Magic business and I am here to escort Mr. Potter to a secret location. We can not afford anymore of your irritating questions. We would like you and Mr. Prang to drive us to Miss Hermione Granger's home. Do your job and we'll do ours, thank you."
She looked at Harry and winked at him and stopped on to the bus. Christina took out her purse and paid both fares and sat down at the end bed on the far side of the bus. Harry sat on the bed next to her's.
"Ministry of Magic business?", said Harry, smirking.
Christina laughed and laid down on her bed. Harry sat against his pillow and tryed to hang on.
Harry hadn't been on the Knight Bus since he had blown up his Aunt Marge three years ago and ran away from the Dursley's.
Harry turned towards Christina," How did you float up to my window last night?"
Christina smiled without opening her eyes,"My dad told you I was talented did he not? It's a very impressive spell I think. It's very hard to do but I don't have to do the spell. I'm a
"Florencia Niente", that's how you say it in Latin, or a magic bird. Alot of people have powers like that. Some people don't, they just might have enough powers to be a witch or wizard but only some can do certain things."
Harry stared at the ceiling,"Why did you float up there?"
Christina laughed,"I thought it would by easier than to knock on your door."
Harry closed his eyes," Do you think I have special powers?"
Christina was silent for a minute,"I think you do, but you might not find out what they are until you're much older."
Harry tried to sleep but the wide swerves of the bus made it impossible,"Christina?",said Harry quietly.
"Yes Harry?",said Christina,
"Why couldn't we fly to Hermione's?"
Harry couldn't be sure but he thought she was smiling,"I couldn't have carried your things and I've never been all that good with navigation."
Harry turned over on the bed and thought about the two months he would spend Dursley-free. Then Harry drifted off to sleep despite the jerking and swerving of the bus.
