Symptoms and transmission
The main symptoms
People infected with the virus can develop symptoms of varying degrees, ranging from fever or a mild cough to pneumonia or, more seriously, death.
The virus has a fatality rate of about 2 to 4 percent, but this is a very early percentage that may change as more information becomes available. At the same time, this does not mean that it is not serious, just that not everyone infected with the virus will face the most serious consequences.
Route of transmission
The main means of transmission of novel coronavirus are respiratory droplets and contact transmission, aerosol and fecal-oral transmission. Epidemiological investigations have shown that many cases can be traced to close contact with confirmed cases.
