“So what’s up, Lucy?” asked Abby. “Oh, you know, the same old, same old. Hey I heard about what happened between you and Luka.” “You did?” “Yeah, sorry to hear about it. I thought you and him would last a lifetime,” she gave Abby a quick hug. “He wasn’t worth my time.” “You must have been devestated him last night.” “Yeah, I was, but luckily Caster was there to comfort me and make me realize that breaking up with Luka, was not the end of everything.” “Yeah...well Carter is a good friend.” “He sure is, any girl would be lucky to have him.” Lucy just smiled and nodded. Shortly after Lucy left excusing herself with a minor case. “Lucy stop thinking like that,” she told herself, “Carter loves you and only you... wait he hadn’t said I Love You yet....”------
A couple days later, Carter was going to be home at nine and Lucy’s shift had ended at seven so she decided to make sum dinner because he said he would be coming over. “Now what shall I make?” she thought out loud. A green salad, lasagna and french bread sounded good. But she couldn’t get one thought out of her mind “What happened at Abby’s apartment last night? What made her forget Luka so soon?” She pushed those thoughts out of her mind and made dinner. Then she sat down to watch TV; some movie in which the boyfriend was cheating on girlfriend with his secretary. “Not the best thing to watch right now,” thought Lucy, and shut off the TV. She got up and looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing sweatpants and an old University navy blue t shirt. Not the most attractive. She read the time: 8:30, “Well it wouldn’t hurt to put on some decent clothes,” she thought and put on her light blue Tommy Jeans and a black low cut, v-neck sweater. She applied sum natural looking makeup and went to check on the lasanga when she heard the door bell ring. She went to open it. It was John, looking slightly tired but handsome nonetheless. He came in, gave Lucy a peck on the cheek. “Something smells good,” he commented “I made dinner” “You didn’t have to do that. We could’ve just bought take out.” “I’m tired of that stuff.” “Same,” he laughed.------
Lucy set the table and sat down to eat. “The food is delicious.” “Thanks” “So, you didn’t tell me that you went over to Abby’s place last night.” “Well, I did. She was heartbroken.” “She must’ve been! Lucy started washing the dishes and refused Carter’s help. As she was nearing the end, Carter walked up behind her and hugged her waist while nuzzling her neck. “You look really sexy doing the dishes.” “Oh, do I?” laughed Lucy “Yes you do!” he picked her up and carried her to the bedroom.
