Carter wakes up to see Lucy not in bed getting up to go fine her. He makes his way downstairs. In the living room he sees Lucy asleep and the couch. Books all around her from studying. He puts a blanket over her and goes back to bed...
4 Hours later Lucy wakes up . She heads to the bedroom to wake up Carter.
Lucy: John.
Carter: Yeah whats wrong?
Lucy: I didnt want you to be late for work.
Carter: What time is it?
Lucy: 10am
Carter: What time it your exam?
Lucy: It starts at noon going until about 4 or so.
Carter: Dont worry you will do fine.
Lucy: Im very worry.
Carter: ( Giving her a kiss ) Well dont be I have faith in you.
Lucy: Im glad you do....
Carter: You worry too much Luce.
Lucy: Well anyways.. Im going to go make some coffee you want some.
Carter: Yeah Ill be down in a sec....
Lucy goes to make the coffee. While Carter gets ready for work.

They leave Carter dropping Lucy off at school. So he can get to work.

Carter: Now go in there and give them hell....

With Lucy off to take her exam Carter heads to work.

Carter: Ok lets get CBC, Chem7 and x-rays. Call Benton down.
Haleh: B/P 90/80
Carter: Ok lets get her B/P up........
Haleh: Lost her pulse.
Carter: Shelly, Shelly ok I need to incubate. Ok Im in. good breathe sounds.
Benton: Ok Carter what do you have?
Carter: 8yr old MVA loc at scene lost pulse incubated good breathe sounds, B/P 110/80
pulse 70. X-rays shows concusion. Abdomen is tender.
Benton: Could be a ruptured spleen. I need an ultra sound.
Benton checks the ultra sound and sees whats wrong.
Benton: Ok call surgery and tell them Im bring a ruptured spleen.
Carter: Peter when you get a chance I need to talk to you..
Benton: Ok
Mar: Hows the girl?
Carter: Ruptured Spleen Benton taking her to surgery now. Hows the mother?
Mark: She died...
Carter: Oh god... Did they call the father?
Mark: Yeah he is on his way in....

Things have slowed down and Carter is in the lounge working on his charts.

Benton: You wanted to see me.
Carter: Well first how is Shelly?
Benton: She's good everything went fine.
Carter: Well she had a great Doctor. Anyways Lucy and I pick the date.
Benton: About time when is it?
Carter: April 24 and I wanted you to be my best man.
Benton: Really..... I just thought.
Carter: What? The ER is my life and I owe that to you. I have never told you this, but you are my best friend.
Benton: Well since you put it that way. Yeah I would be honor to.
Carter: Thank you....
They kind of hug Benton heads back up to surgery. While Carter finishes up his charts.
Sometime laps and Carter is still in the lounge. He feel asleep while working on his charts. When he wakes up realizing what time it is starts wondering why Lucy hasnt call him yet. Carter calls home to see if she is there, but there is no answer.
Kerry: Hey Carter whats wrong?
Carter: Nothing...
Kerry: You look worry.
Carter: Well I was just wondering why I havent hear from Lucy yet.
Kerry: Thats right her exam was today.
Carter: Yeah it was, but it was over at 4. I told her I would pick her up, but she hasnt call yet.
Kerry: I wouldnt worry. What did you do after your exam?
Carter: I don't remember.
Kerry: Im sure she will call you soon. She probably went out with some friends.
Carter: Yeah I guess....
Kerry: So stop worrying and get back to work.

At the Desk

Carter: What do you have for me?
Randi: Theres a man in exam 3 ( Handing him the chart )
Carter: Hello Mr. Peterson what seem to be the problem tonight?
Mr. Peterson: Ive been vomiting for 2 days and havent been able to eat.
Lydia: Temps 102 B/P 120/40 pulse 75.
Carter: Ok order CBC, chem7 and start an IV saline. Also tenlyon for the fever.Ok Its sounds like you have a stomach flu its been going around. Well know more when the test get back.
Mr. Peterson: Whats the IV for?
Carter: Well it's to help you from becoming dehydrated since you havent been able to keep anything down.
Mr. Peterson: Thank you doctor.
Carter leaves to go check with Randi to see if Lucy called.

Randi: No
Carter: If she does please get right away.
Randi: I sure will.
Lydia: Test results are back on Mr. Peterson.
Carter: ( Looking at the chart ) Ok everything looks good. Hes got the flu.
Carter goes to let Mr. Peterson know about the tests.
Carter: Everything is find you have the flu. I want you to finish the IV and I have order one more IV. I just want to make sure you get hydrated. Thats should take about another hour and then you can go home. If anything changes let the nurse know.
Mr. Peterson: Ok thank you Dr. Carter.
Carter: Ill be back to check on you in a bit.
Carter makes his way to the front desk to see if Lucy has called yet. With her still not calling he tries home again to see if she is there. Still no answer and no word from Lucy. Now Carter is worry he heads to the lounge...

Carter: You need me ( Walking toward the door ) Lets go.
Mark: No I don't need you. Everything is ok. She has some cuts and bruises. A few cracked ribs a nasty head injury.
Carter: ( Taking his seat again ) Why are you telling me this?
Mark: It was Lucy.....
Carter: WHAT!!!! (Jumping up from his chair )
Mark: She was found in the brushes at school.
Carter: Where is she?
Mark: Carter you need to know something else. She was raped.......
Carter: Where is she?
Mark: Trauma room 1
Rushing out the door and going to Lucy. At the door he looks in seeing Carol just finishing up the rape kit. A tear falls down his cheek.
Carter: Luce are you ok?
Lucy: John Im sorry I don't know what happen.
Carter: Don't worry about that you have nothing to be sorry for. ( He gives her a kiss on the cheek )
Lucy: ( Just then something happen ) Oh my god I was raped. He raped me John.
Carter: Lucy don't do this to yourself.
Lucy: You have to go I can't do this now please go.
Carter: I not leaving you Lucy.
Lucy: I don't want you to see me like this.
