The Empire Dreadnoughts were comprised of one Ultramarines Dread, which fittingly enough was our captains, two Legion of the Damned, three Blood Angels, two Dark Angels, and four from the Flaming Fists Chapter. The Imperial Dreads were taken off of the board when destroyed, and they had to hold the gate agaisnt an overwhelming enemy hoard for an undetermined period of time.

Team Nasty was made up of 2 Ork Dreadnoughts, 12 Killer Kans, 2 Chaos Space Marine Dreadnoughts, 1 Dark Eldar Talos, 1 corrupted Wraith Lord, and 9 Traitor Guard Sentinels. Team Nasty was allowed to use Sustained Assualt rules, allowing them to come back on any table edge but the one the gate occupies when destroyed. This led the Team Nasty coallition to a rather hasty decisison to destroy one another if any of their Dreads were immobilised.

The invaders went first, promptly moving the lumbering arsenal forward. The World Eaters Chaos Dreads decided to get started early, blasting away at the Ork Kans. The Chaos Dreads proved to be a thorny problem for the alien team, with only one turn out of 6 seeing these perversions of humanity blasting away at their own team. The Traitor Sentinels started what would be a true domination of the game by blasting one of the LOD dreads into oblivion. The Imperial team scored an early moral victory when a Flaming Fist Dread settled an old score with Matt's Commander dreadnought, thus ensuring 200 points very early in the game. Firing lines were established and a parameter was based around Howard's Ultramarine Commander.
