The Gate 9 board took Black Fez Studios' Andy and Leigh over 40 hours to construct from start to finish, and was constructed from plastic coated foam core (much more durable than its paper coated cousin), gutted model kits, plastic irrigation piping, blister pack shells, computer fan housings, and a tray from some vegetarian sausages for the gate, and a large sheet of insulation grade foam, shaped, smothed, sculpted and sand textured for the flat surface. Graphics were printed onto clear transfer paper and the whole thing was slathered in matte finish. |
