I first noticed the Roman Football Club in the late 90's, where my love of the Italian Serie A blossomed. Initially my eye was on the bigger, richer, Northern teams. Footballing powerhouses like Juventus, A.C. Milan and Internazionale. However, I have always felt a special affinity for the weak, the unloved, and Lazio better fit with that. I grew to support them and this feeling of love for the dispossessed, feelings of communitarianism, and ultimately my need to identify with provincial martyrdom drew me to clubs like Lazio, even city-rivals A.S. Roma, and along with Hellas Verona, based in the beautiful Verona, Veneto. But I Biancocelesti, S.S. Lazio of the Eternal City is my footballing club of choice.
