Here you'll find Mount Haguro, a holy mountain with many beautiful shrines, a five-storey pagoda surrounded by ancient cedars and nearly 3,000 steps through the forest and up the mountain.  It really is a beautiful place.  Proper old-style Japan and one of my favourite places.
