Dana took this picture of me after a morning run at Oyama Park, near our hometown of Tsuruoka.

Since coming to Japan I have gotten to see, taste, smell, hear and experience in general some incredible things.  Among the more interesting things I have been apart of are:  tea ceremonies, flower arranging, going to an orphanage with a group of ALTs, hiking the Dewa Sanzen, going to a Mikoshi festival and the list could go on and on.

My goals for the remaining time I am in Japan are: continue learning Japanese, go to a professional baseball game, go to China and travel more in Japan.

My wife (Dana) and I live in the town of Tsuruoka.  We live in an old prefectural apartment building.  While the apartment is not much to look at from the outside our inside it is fairly nice.  We came to Japan in July 2001 after living in Tennessee for three years.  I am originally from Georgetown, Ohio which is about an hour east of Cincinnati.  My twin brother, Mark, still lives there and my parents are in the process of moving to their new home in Florida.

I have many interests with the top one being running.  I have run competitively since twelve and still do now.  Recently I have started focusing on ultra-marathons, which are typically as least 50KM and on trails.  Now, my wife and I train on the trails in Oyama Park.

Christmas 2001 we spent in Hawaii.  This is us on Christmas day on Waikiki beach.
