else that represents you. |
Brian Naumann
Where do you live now: Yawata
How long have you lived in Japan: Nearing the end of my first full year
Hometown: Irvine, California, United States
Family Information: There are four people, including me, in the Naumann
family. My father, Larry, my mother, Colleen, and my younger sister,
Jenny. My parents live in the city where I was raised; Irvine,
California. Jobwise; my father's a CPA for a community development/construction
company and my mother's a nurse at Orangewood Children's Home, a shelter
for neglected and abused children. My sister Jenny moved to Honolulu,
Hawaii the same day I moved to Yawata. She now attends Argosy University
and hopes to get her masters degree in child psychology within the next
year.
What University/What did you study?
I went to school at Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University,
actual name, but too long winded) in San Luis Obispo. I studied business
and have degrees in International Business Management, Marketing Management,
and a minor in Economics.
Hobbies: Anything active's always a good time, but especially like snowboarding,
hiking and swimming. Roadtrips, photography, people watching, writing,
seeing live music, reading and aimlessly wandering also tend to put a
smile on Brian's face.
Goals for being in Japan: To come home with amazing stories for my friends,
family, and eventual grandchildren. Besides that, learning Japanese,
making new, life-long friendships with people all across the globe, and
becoming more in-tune with my self and where my self and my thoughts
lie in the grand scheme of things; yeah, I'd say those top the list for
things I'd like to achieve while here in Japan.
Plans after teaching in Japan: Still don't know what I want to be when
I grow up. Maybe stay in Japan; maybe move to Spain and teach English
for a while; maybe move to Hawaii and go to grad school; maybe go back
to either Los Angeles or San Francisco and get me a fancy sittin' job.
Just gonna put my money on the table and see what kind of cards I get.
At least for now.
