I had so much fun today. Some of my favourite friends from RGS and I went to Addy's house today to bake brownies and cookies. It was so so so fun.
Actually, it was pretty badly organised, cos just 1 hour before we were supposed to start baking, Addy happily just asked if it was okay that she didn't have an electric mixer. We asked if she had a whisk, cos if she did, it might be possible to make do without the mixer. Addy said, " What's a whisk? " It turned out we had to make do with a wooden spoon. Wow. The biceps on my right arm definitely had a brilliant workout this afternoon. The point is, I felt great anyway. I felt like we were back in RGS. As like before, we made fun of each other, we made a fool out of ourselves, Addy and I lost our way again, Xinyi was in a hurry all the time, Su-Lin was so happily domestic and Poach was silently tolerating all our nonsense. Yup, everything was normal. At the end of the whole baking experience, as we sat in the kitchen waiting for the cookies to bake, we started to talk. This was the first time I genuinely felt like we were about to go our separate ways when university starts. We have such different aspirations and directions. Su-Lin wants to do social work. Addy and Poach are potential lawyers and I'm probably end up with engineering. When will our paths cross again? On my way home, I felt, by contrast, so lonely. Where will I be one year after today? Where will my friends be? How should call them anymore? |
