Personal Touch

You'd learn something new everyday:
In one of the BIG fires of London in the 17th century I think, half the city was destroyed, but only 6 people were killed.

Sudden inspirations or cravings:
choke myself.

I've got sore throat again. But that's not the point of today's entry for the simple fact that no matter how much I whine, my throat will never relent.

In fact, I often wonder if the reason for the return of the sore throat is only to make me feel distracted from the release of 'A' Levels results. Argh....

I went out with Po Chin and Addy yesterday to watch One True Thing. Before the movie, Po Chin actually told me that if she cries in that movie, she will kill me. Turns out, we all cried.

I have no idea if other people would find this movie as good as I think, cos come to think of it, some parts of it were quite cliched. But oh well...

Anyway, I actually found the movie quite personal, cos I am really not close to my mother but I still won't want to go through anything like her contracting cancer. The reason why I am so concerned is because my aunt did have cancer and I have no idea if this actually runs in the family. Thus, I watched the movie as if it could have been my story.

Reminds me of the time when I cried damn hard while watching Saving Private Ryan, thinking all the time about my brothers and how they might die before I do, for perhaps an unworthy cause. Argh...it was a very morbid thought, but thank god Malaysia is not attacking Singapore.

I should really stop relating everything I watch in the movies to my own family. Maybe it's time for me to watch more unrealistic shows. Oh, I watch Shakespeare In Love during the Chinese New Year season. Hehe...definitely totally unrelated to my life. The guys around me can't even say a complete sentence of good english, not to mention Shakespearean prose. Hehe.

My favourite movie of all times is this foreign film called The Postman. Italian or Spanish or one of those. Should talk about it soon.

Tell me what u think.
