Miss me, baby?

1530h
Mood: very good
Fact of the day: The bus in Kyoto costs 220\, while the train costs 210\ (for me to get from my brother's place to their main commercial, ie shopping, area anyway.)
event of the week: Exploring kyoto on my own.

No way I could have updated this journal while I was in Korea. True, in one of the hotels we stayed in, there was one computer, in the executive suites lounge, but the connection was too expensive, the instructions all in Korean and it's just too much trouble figuring out the korean keyboard. Which by the way is far worse than the japanese one. bleah.

Even when I came back to Kyoto, I couldn't get onto the net, because
1) my brother's computer crashed.
2) even after the computer was fixed, the internet connection wasn't.
3) even after the internet connection was fixed, my brother became convinced that I jinxed his computer and wouldn't let me use it for any more than 20 minutes, which is barely just enough for me to read my mails, not reply, see how few people are reading my un-updated journal and then click "disconnect".

There wasn't really much of a chance for me to use any other computer, cos this happens to be the Japanese's New Year celebration period and all the shops were closed until yesterday. Not that there's any internet cafe around anyway. Sigh....it was a hopeless situation for the past 4 days.

I'm in my brother's school computer lab right now. Aaaaahhh....bliss...bliss of having information at my finger tips. Bliss of no having my brother peer over my shoulders to make sure I'm not wasting his internet connection. Man...I'm definitely an internet addict. Heh. Here are the things that I wrote down in my little paper notepad while I didn't have internet access:

Korea in white
The tour guide's smile
2m from my brother
The temple

Maybe I should have left these pages for when I go back to champaign, where the keyboard on my trusty laptop is more cindy-friendly. But heck, let's not waste the internet connection I have right now. Heh.

And oh yeah, by the way, Happy New Millennium!
