Mood: relaxed Fact of the day: event of the week: Flying to Seoul tomorrow. It's been 2 days since I'm in Kyoto, and there's so much I want to say! But I've been lazy in writing here, cos the Japanese keyboard is kinda weird and I'm not too used to it. Heh. But I'm getting the hang of it now. It probably helps that the basic alphabets are at the same places..just that sometimes I accidentally activates the Japanese writing thingy and I'll start typing Japanese. And the punctuation marks are quite different.
I brought my camera here, with a fresh roll of film, but I've yet to take any pictures at all. Seriously, I'm not a tourist here at all. I'm really just a sister visiting. My brother brought me to his school, which is somewhat a little like LSE that I visited, in that there isn't one whole campus, but just clusters of school buildings throughout the city. Of course, I didn't attend lecture with him, since I don't freaking understand japanese anyway.
I also went to those restaurants that he goes to, hung out at his gym, rented videos and had a video marathon, had steamboat, and so on. Just some very usual activities....aaaah...yes, this is the kind of vacation I wanted. I felt so relaxed..having him take care of me. Naturally, since I don't understand japanese, he's the one who's been making the decisions, even when it comes to meals. I'll just tell him I want, let's say chicken and rice, and he'll order something with chicken and rice in it for me. HAhaha...he even pays for it, since he doesn't want me to have too much trouble at the cashier. Heh.
It's quite funny not understanding anything that other people say though. I feel sort of being an outsider, just watching, and being watched. Though we're all Asian, I know I don't look Japanese at all, and the people around me can tell too. So as I wonder what they're saying, I'm sure they're wondering if I understand, and what I'm doing here. From my point of view, I can see the charms of this city. The little alleys that we cycle through, the cute little train that runs through the city, and rows of vending machines by the road, the sweet looking school girls walking home from school. It's quite a charm. I guess after spending so much time in America, it's quite a treat to be having a vacation in nice old Asia. Nice.
My brother's friends are here right now, juat hanging out with us. I feel quite rude ignoring them, just typing on the computer. One of them was in huang cheng as well, he wrote a script too! I want to talk to him more, just to know more about the play that he wrote. So I guess I'll stop right now.
I'm leaving for Korea tomorrow, where I'll spend Christmas with my family. I'm very excited. Will talk more after I come back then......
