Mood: really good Fact of the day: There are 50 states in the USA. [ok, I always sort of knew that, but was never sure....] event of the week ASB fundraising event this saturday - dance party! Yes!! I finished my computer programming homework all by myself! Hehe..yes, extreme sense of satisfaction right now. Not to mention a growing ego. Hahah..
Actually it's quite fun writing Java programs, quite a thrill when I compile it and it actually works. This particular piece of homework was a very big headache. I spent the whole of last night doing it, slept only for about an hour, and I still couldn't make it work. Needless to say, I went for my classes this morning all grouchy and tired and demoralised.
Then, during lunch, I managed to clarify one part of it with Alvin and somehow, I felt a lot more confident about doing it. On my walk back to my dorm, it just suddenly struck me how easy this program can actually be! I don't know how to explain this sudden streak of inspiration, but I suddenly felt like I was the smartest person on earth. Haha.. finally I got back to my room, started on my program again and voila, I finished it within an hour.
It's amusing to think back now and wonder how I could have beem thinking in circles the whole of last night, confusing myself all the time, when the answer is actually so simple. Oh well...that's why I say I'm not as smart as people say I am. I can be so dumb.
Anyway, I'm taking a small break from my work now. I have 15 more minutes before I have to leave, for a small leadership training program thing I signed up for. It's going to last all afternoon and evening till about 11pm, which was why I had to finish my homework before I leave. I'm just resting and resting and resting.After all, having gone through that whole stressful experience with my computer programming homework, I think I deserve a break..
